Description

FSS JAPANESE CHERRY TREE BLOSSOM EXTRACT

Prunus serrulata, also called the hill cherry, Japanese cherry, or the cherry blossom, is a medium sized tree with usually non-fragrant flowers that bloom in early or mid-spring. The tree is native to China, Japan, and Korea and is most often associated with the spring cherry blossom displays and festivals that take place throughout the world.

Japanese cherry blossom trees have a multitude of sustainable uses that have been utilized in society, such as the bark for baskets and containers, bark extracts are used as a dye, and blossom extracts are common for cosmetics and even culinary dishes. The cherry blossoms in particular are used for their high antioxidant content that may provide anti-aging benefits to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as reduce inflammation. Essential fatty acids are also present and promote smooth skin by repairing the skin’s natural barrier and protecting the body from outside pollutants. These properties may also be incorporated into hair care applications to soothe and moisturize the scalp. Hydration will reduce dandruff occurrence and strengthen the hair shaft for shiny and healthy hair.

Pigmentation can be an irritant for anyone, but Japanese cherry blossoms have just the answer for that. The blossoms are used in many cultures for their whitening abilities, which may lighten uneven pigments on the skin. This process also cleanses the skin to leave a bright and even skin tone.
